Do we participate in veterans retraining assistance programs?

No we do not participate in veterans retraining assistance programs for our PV installation training or our Solar Thermal training programs.

How much of our electricity comes from solar energy?

As technology continues to improve, solar energy becomes more efficient along with its price decreasing. Although solar energy is becoming a more dependable and reliable energy source, solar energy accounts for only a small fraction of the world's total energy supply.

Solar Power Charge Controllers

Solar charge controllers are rated and sized by the solar panel array current and system voltage. Most common are 12, 24, and 48-volt controllers. Amperage ratings normally run from 1 amp to 60 amps, voltages from 6-60 volts. For example, if one module in your 12-volt system produces 7.45 amps and two modules are utilized, your system will produce 14.9 amps of current at 12 volts. Because of light reflection and the edge of cloud effect, sporadically increased current levels are...

DIY Solar Panel Kits

DIY Solar Panels KitsBuild your own solar panels. Since 1999 we've been helping our customers build their own solar panel kits using our PMaxx Solar Cells. DIY solar panel kits provide beginners with the opportunity to construct their own solar panels using our high efficiency solar cells. DIY solar panel kits are specifically designed for home do-it-yourselfers, experimenters, students and anyone interested in learning about solar power from the ground up. If you’re one of those people who learns best by...

Do I need a back-up battery system when installing a solar energy system?

No, all solar energy systems are connected to your grid system. All of the electricity that you do not use goes into the grid system, but you never have to worry about running out of power because you have energy coming in from your solar energy system along with the electricity that comes from your power company.

Who are the top manufacturers of solar technology in the world?

In 2010 it has been recorded that China had collected $54.4 billion, Germany $41.2 billion and the US coming in third with $34 billion. The US is known for innovating clean energy technology, but in recent years China and Germany have become the top manufacturers of solar technology.

Can the cost of producing solar panels be covered from the benefits they will bring?

It was inefficient to produce solar panels when PV technology was young years ago, producing solar panels cost around $40,000 per Watt. Modern date solar technology enables highly efficient solar panels. Impartial studies have done to show that the payback time for average solar systems to save enough to offset their production cost only takes three to four years. Putting into consideration that most solar panels have a life span longer than 25 years, it is very wrong to call...

Will my solar panels work if there is a power outage?

With a on-grid system Iconnected to the utility company)  power will be lost, however you can switch to a backup generator for electricity. If it is an off-grid system with a battery bank to store excess created energy, then you won't experience the blackout as long as the electricity supply is not depleted.

Can the solar panel be left outdoors throughout the year in all weathers without damage?

In theory it can be left outside all year round, however the manufacturer recommends a bead of silicon around the glass & bezel to ensure water tightness. There is a large indent between the glass and bezel and this would hold water if laid flat, for example on the vehicles roof. Personally I would be hesitant about a flat placement without some extra protection

What is the differences between a Mono-crystalline and Polycrystalline solar panel?

The difference between mono-crystalline and polycrystalline solar panels is that one is produced from a single crystal of silicon and the other is produced from a piece of silicon consisting of many crystals.
