Drainback Solar Hot Water Systems incorporate a drainback tank into the system, which allows the Solar Collectors to empty of water (or HTF) in case of cold weather or system shutdown, protecting the lines on the outside of the building (to and from the Solar Collector(s)) from freezing and causing damage to the system.
