Whisper 200 Wind Generator (Off Grid): The Whisper 200 was upgraded in 2005 with new features and added flexibility for your renewable energy system. Now, any Whisper 200 can have its voltage changed (12-48V DC) within a few minutes in the field. The Whisper 200 is identical to the Whisper 100 except that it sports a larger propeller (9 ft) than the 100 (7 ft) and that it is specifically designed to perform well on wind sites as low as 8 mph annual average. Cumulative output of the 200 can be nearly double that of the Whisper 100 in low wind applications.

The Whisper 200 is designed to operate on sites with low to medium speed which average 8 mph (3.6 m/s) or greater. The 200 provides 200+ kwh of power per month (6.8 kwh per day) in a 12 mph average wind. The Whisper 200 does produce more sound than it's 100 counterpart, however it does produce almost twice the power. The Whisper 200 is specifically designed to operate in very low wind speed sites, note that the 200 should be manually stopped during prolonged high wind speed events in order to prevent damage.

In addition to its patented smooth acting side furling design, the Whisper 200 has a number of new features which make it ideal for any new or existing photovoltaic system. Including:

• A new four bearing spindle for a smoother operation and longer life
• An upgraded Yaw shaft that more efficiently delivers current to your batteries <
• New bronze bushing and larger diameter furling pin for smoother furling action
• New castings which allow for easy access to the stator for changing voltage

Optional Whisper Battery Charge Controller (Normally Required)
The Whisper 200 controller includes a diversion load to ensure quiet safe operation of your wind turbine when the batteries are charged. It installs in minutes and it protects both your wind turbine and your battery. The Whisper controller fits easily inside your battery room. Add the optional LCD display and you will instantly receive real time data on the performance of your Whisper 200. The display can be mounted on the controller or up to 1000 feet (300 meters) away, making it easy to track what is going on with your Whisper 200 letting you know what is happening at any time

You may also wish to consider connecting an optional wind speed anemometer to your controller, so you can also measure wind speed.
