Whisper 200 High Voltage Wind Turbine: This turbine is designed to be particularly effective on low/medium wind sites and should not be considered on high wind sites unless you as a customer are prepared to manually turn the machine off during high wind events. The oversized propeller and the furl mechanism will not stand up to long term unattended operation on a "hot" site. This High Voltage unit generates at 240 VAC and requires a step down transformer, sold as an option. Power is stepped down at the transformer and fed through a Whisper Charge Controller to your batteries.

Please call Silicon Solar if you require your turbine to be placed a long distance from your home and it is a high wind site. We may be able to custom size a turbine for you. Please know that anytime power is transformed (up or down) some losses occur. As such you can expect an identical (standard) Whisper 200 will generate more net energy than a high voltage unit in a given wind.

Reliable Remote Power:

The Whisper 100 provides dependable energy for remote homes, telecommunication sites and rural applications in moderate to extreme environments. Reliable operation by thousands of customers makes the Whisper 100 the top selling small wind turbine in its class. Assuming a 12 mph (5.4 m/s) average wind, a Whisper 100 will produce 100 kwh per month. Best for moderate to high wind of 9 mph (4 m/s) and above.

The versatile Whisper 200 powers applications from remote homes to water pumping. The Whisper 200s 9 foot (2.7 m) blade has almost twice the swept area of the Whisper 100, yielding twice the energy. A high voltage model is available for transmission over long distances. It is best for low to moderate wind of 7 mph (3 m/s) and above.
