Whisper 100 Wind Generator: The design of the Whisper 100 was updated in 2005 and it features a tough cast aluminum body and user-switchable 12/24/48 VDC output configurations. The conservative rotor diameter of 7 feet (2.1m) provides a reliable unit for "hot" sites and a rated output of 900 watts. Lower wind speed sites should use the Whisper 200 model, which is identical to the Whisper 100 except that it sports a larger diameter propeller (9 ft or 2.7m).

A patented side furl mechanism allows severe wind protection while maintaining high electric output levels. The Whisper 100 is sold with a charge controller as an option (most users will require one). The dedicated battery charge controller contains an excess power diversion heat element as standard. Whisper controller options go beyond the on board LED indicators to offer an optional remote monitoring panel which provides real time digital display data on power production. If you choose to purchase the optional wind speed anemometer, it also can connect to the remote display and provide instant average wind data.

There are several tower hardware kits are available. These kits contain the brackets, cables and hardware to erect and support the tower, but they do not include the actual pipe sections of the tower. This pipe is standard 2" schedule 40 water pipe sections and can almost always be obtained locally at least cost. Silicon Solar can supply this pipe, however be advised that the shipping charges will be as much as the pipe due to it's length (21') and weight. A marine option (powder coated body) helps the turbine resist the effects of salt water spray and seaside use.

*Again: For average wind sites under 12 mph you will want to instead opt for the Whisper 200 model, which is identical to the Whisper 100 except that it features a larger 9 foot diameter propeller and a 1000 watt rating
