United Kingdom Solar Energy: Sponsoring the Low Carbon Buildings Program in the UK is the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (also known as BERR). If a household in the UK wishes to incorporate renewable energy products into their home, they can apply for grants of up to £2,500 towards installation by a certified installer of a certified product. If you would like to learn more about the technologies which are funded, about how to apply for funding, or simply more about the program, have a look at http://lowcarbonbuildings.org.uk/about/.

The government of the UK also funds projects to improve household heating and energy efficiency. This programme is called Warm Front in England, Warm Homes in Northern Ireland, Warm Deal and the Central Heating Program in Scotland, and in Wales it is known as the Home Energy Efficiency Scheme. Eligibility criteria for these programs varies from Country to Country, but if you are interested you should have a look at http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/what_can_i_do_today/energy_saving_grants_and_offers
