Pump in full sunlight
Pump in full sunlight
Solution
My pump doesn't run even though the solar panel is in full sunlight. How do I fix this?
A common misconception about full sunlight is that the panel is in full sun as long as the sun is not covered nor are there any clouds in the sky. This has caused many people to believe their pumps are defective. In actuality, aside from having a clear sky, full sunlight also means that the panel does not have anything blocking it from the sun. If at any time during the day an object around your panel casts a shadow on it, even a small shadow, your panel will not produce power. It is also important to pay attention to the movement of the sun during the day, as shadows will shift over time. You will also see reduced or no operation if the weather in your area is hazy, intermittently cloudy, partly cloudy, or completely overcast.
