Solution

Product FAQ:

Q: I would like to recharge a 12v battery. Which solar panel do I need to recharge the battery and do I need a charge controller?
A: First, it is always recommended that you purchase a charge controller when recharging 12v batteries unless you are only trickle charging (1-5 watts). Silicon Solar, Inc. offers a universal, affordable charge controller which can be used with nearly every solar panel under 50 watts. Our selection of charge controllers can be found at http://www.siliconsolar.com/visual-directory/solar-power-charge-controllers.html

Selecting a solar panel can sometimes be difficult since it depends on the amount of power you are drawing from the battery and your isolation levels. For keeping a standard 12v battery up to charge, we recommend using our ThinFilm solar panel series or our new GridMaxx thin film solar panels. These items can be used in conjunction with the above charge controller to maintain almost any 12v battery source. You can find both ThinFilm and GridMaxx panels here: http://www.siliconsolar.com/visual-directory/5-50-watt-solar-panels.html

Q: Do you offer solar battery charging systems that will work for commercial grade projects?
A: Yes, Silicon Solar, Inc. offers complete solutions for commercial grade solar battery charging systems. For GSA contracts, please fax your request to Fax: 1-800-
