My Solar Fountain is not working--what should I do?

Lift off the top of the fountain and make sure the wire going to the panel from the pump is tightened.  Push it together at the connection points make sure the panel is in full sunlight with NO shadows at all.

It is also possible for the pump to be vapor locked. You need to remove the pump from the tube and submerge just the pump under water.  If it is pushing water, then hook it back up to the tube and it should work.

Grass or other debris may have clogged the impeller, which is very easy to fix, depending on the model of your pump. The following simple steps will allow you to remove the debris:

1: Remove the pump from the display. Depending on the type of pump, you will either have to unscrew the cover or you can pop the front off, giving access to the impeller. If needed, you can utilize a key to slide the cover off of the pump.

2: Now you should be able to see the impeller inside the pump. It looks like a propeller blade. Using a key, gently pry the impeller up to expose any debris that may have been sucked up by the pump. 

3: After you slide the impeller off, you can see if anything needs to be cleaned out. This pump had restricted water flow due to a piece of grass that twisted around the motor shaft.

Simply remove the debris before gently pushing the impeller back onto the motor shaft and re-assembling the housing. Before re-installing the pump, test it to make sure that it pushes water. If your pump does push water, install it back into your display and enjoy!
