Solar Hot Water DEMO Trailer Unveiled
The SunMaxx Solar Hot Water just finished assembly and testing on their first SunMaxx Solar Hot Water DEMO Trailer. The project incorporated a SunMaxx-25 Evacuated Tube Solar Collector, a DC Circulator Pump powered by a battery and solar panel and a hot tub. The purpose of the DEMO Trailer is to provide a safe, fun and mobile platform for demonstrating the effectiveness of Solar Hot Water.
The SunMaxx plans on using the DEMO Trailer as their mobile education vehicle, making the rounds to local green events, fairs and schools, promoting the benefits of Solar Hot Water, and the ease with which the average American can purchase and install such a system, saving hundreds, or thousands, of dollars a year.
The trailer represents one of the easiest, and most cost-effective designs for a Solar Hot Water System – an open loop system where water from a storage vessel (a hot tub in this case) is heated directly within the solar collectors and expelled back into the storage vessel.
Francesco Speziale, Team Leader for Solar Hot Water Dealer Development at Silicon Solar, and the driving force behind the Trailer’s completion was ecstatic as the trailer was hooked up began heating water as the rest of the Silicon Solar team looked on.Speziale will unveil the trailer officially at this weekend’s Hudson Valley Green Fair in Rhinebeck, NY.The following Saturday, the trailer will be part of Silicon Solar’s exhibit at the Roger’s Environmental Education Center’s EarthFest.
The SunMaxx team also plans on making the trailers, and the kits to assemble them available to their dealers and distributors, as well as schools, universities and other associations who believe strongly in educating their students, members, or the general public about green energy, solar hot water and being more eco-friendly.
