With this much sunlight, San Diego is a perfect place to promote and develop the adoption of renewable energy technology.

In 2009 and 2012, San Diego has ranked as the solar capital of the America. In fact, San Diego ranked first in the state in solar capacity and number of installations, according to the report by nonprofit advocacy group Environmental California. There are 19,427 kilowatts generated by solar power though more than 2800 solar systems.
