Silicon Solar offers a D-I-Y solar panel kit which makes it easy for you to incorporate solar power into your system. We carry both kits for simply battery maintenance, along with kits which are designed to sustain multiple power cycles.

Battery Maintenance System: (RV-409)

This battery maintaining system can be utilized to keep any 12v operated system fully charged to prevent a loss in battery life. This system connects directly to your Vehicle's batteries and charges them during the day.

This system include battery clamps and cable for easy integration into your Vehicle and either comes with a durable aluminum or ABS plastic frame for mounting, *depending on availability.

How do I install my RV Solar Panel?

All of our RV solar panels feature plug and play operation. Simply place your solar panel in the desired location, either on top of the RV or, if only used when stationary; we recommend placing closest to the battery compartment. If you are placing it on top of your RV, estimate how long the distance is between your battery and the solar panels desired location. Depending on the length, select the wire extension length above when ordering.

At the end of each unit, you can simply use the included battery clamps and connect directly onto your 12v battery source. Each solar panel is equipped with a built in blocking diode system to prevent battery discharge.

Sizing my RV Solar Panel:

Sizing your RV solar panel can be done by following the procedures below.

1. Find out what voltage your RV battery is, typically 12v
2. Determine how frequently you will be leaving the RV stationary without additional power supply (e.g the engines alternator).
3. If you are placing on top of your RV, estimate how long the distance is between your battery and the solar panels desired location. Select the length of the wire that would be best suited for you from the extension option above.
