BERGEY XL.1 WIND ELECTRIC TURBINE (off grid)

Bergey XL.1 Wind Electric Turbine (off grid): The (BWC) XL.1 wind turbine from Silicon Solar is intended for off-grid homes and for rural electrification programs in developing countries. It is also a perfect upgrade system for current owners of micro-turbines, such as the Air 303 or 403. The XL 1 is a 24 vdc battery charging unit with a rated output of 1000 watts and a peak output of 1300 watts.

The XL.1 is the most reliable small turbine in the world. Thousands of these systems are already in use. A state of the art "all in one" Power Controller regulates the battery charge and also will control your solar PV panels as well. A diversion load for space heating is an available option. The turbine is a horizontal axis, upwind, 3 bladed unit with passive overspeed control.

The XL.1 has pultruded fiberglass blades which are at least 4 times stronger than any competitors machine and the XL.1 features a permanent magnet "inverted" alternator. This inverted design uses a fixed mainframe mounted stator in order to allow the power and the magnets to rotate directly with the blades around the stator. The only part you see moving is the only moving part of the system.

The AutoFurl speed governor system will function in all weather conditions. It uses no springs or other gadgets but is instead simply frontal force on the propeller v/s gravity on the tail. AutoFurl is instant control which pits natures own forces against each other and not against the wind turbine.
