Biography, Adam Farrell

Adam Farrell, inspired by a ninth grade science project in which he designed a miniature solar house, founded Silicon Solar at the age of 15, when he also began installing residential solar systems. With only a few hundred dollars and a workshop that was set up in his bedroom, Adam began selling solar cells and educational kits with the intention of increasing student awareness of solar energy. Shortly thereafter, his business expanded to design and manufacture solar integrated products, including solar lights, fountains and portable power systems, among many other energy products. In 2006, Adam established SunMaxx Solar, solar thermal division which offers a premier line of evacuate tube and flat plate solar thermal products nationwide.  SunMaxx now holds the #3 market share for evacuated tube technology as well as #9 market share for flat plate solar collectors in the United States. The customer base grew from his next-door neighbors to higher institutes of education and the United States government, serving over 130,000 customers. Serving the nations demand for solar energy out of its four nationwide offices located in Bainbridge and Ithaca New York as well as in Denver Colorado; Silicon Solar is able to offer enhanced logistics support for their customers. Graduating from Cornell University in 2007 as an Applied Economics and Management (AEM) major Adam has been able to dedicate his full attention to his business and the renewable energy sector.
