Information for 0-1 Watt Solar Modules Products

Solar Power: Parallel & Series Configurations:

Be sure the system you are powering with the 0-1 watt solar modules do not need to draw more power than the module can provide. If a single module does not work, and you have multiple modules, link the modules in series to increase the voltage or in parallel to increase the amperage.

Amperage remains the same and voltage increases additively while the modules are connected in series. Voltage remains the same and amperage increases additively while the modules are connected in parallel. Connecting the modules in series and parallel will result in an increase in both voltage and amperage.

For example: imagine having four 9 volt batteries rated at 0.5 amps. Connecting two batteries in series would give you 18 volts at 0.5 amps. Connecting two batteries in parallel would give you 9 volts at 1 amp. Connecting two batteries in series, another two in series, and then connecting these two sets in parallel will give you 18 volts at 1 amp.

If you are not sure what the output is and do not want to damage your device by supplying too much power, you can get a good idea of the power your solar array will provide by doing these simple calculations.

If you will be using these solar panels in such a way that will require mounting, refer to the quick tips and information page for solar panel mounts.
